What's new in Nayarit?: Travel Weekly
Meagan Drillinger Nayarit is making moves to welcome travelers in 2021. In addition to a long list of resources for safe and responsible vacations, the destination is welcoming new hotels and increased airline connectivity. With more than 200 miles of coastline, Magical Towns, experiences set in the open spaces of nature, and high-end resort accommodations with private villa offerings, this may be the perfect year to discover Riviera Nayarit. Hotel openings Riviera Nayarit closed out 2020 with several new openings, from the 324-suite Conrad Punta de Mita (the first Conrad resort in Mexico) to the 104-villa One&Only Mandarina, which opened Nov. 1. In November 2021, the destination is expected to open a new Auberge Resorts Collection property: the 59-suite Susurros del Corazon. The 415-room Dreams Punta de Mita Resort & Spa and the 200-room Secrets Punta de Mita Resort & Spa are anticipated for the second quarter of the year, as well. The first all-inclusive Delta by Marriott resort will arrive in 2021, which will take over and reflag the Grand Matlali Hills Resort & Spa, located south of Punta de Mita in La Cruz de Huanacaxtle.
For example, the IAAPA estimated that attractions industry employment in California was down 60% for the year through October, while industry employment in Florida, where partial reopenings began in July, was down approximately 30%.
Flight connections Access to Riviera Nayarit is via the Gustavo Diaz Ordaz Airport in Puerto Vallarta. American Airlines has launched a route from Charlotte to Puerto Vallarta and added an additional route from Los Angeles as well as daily flights from Dallas/Fort Worth and Phoenix. Extended stays Several of the resorts and hotels in Nayarit have offered the option for guests to book extended stays, which has become popular during the pandemic as many travelers want to limit the amount of time in transit. The Four Seasons Punta Mita offers guests the opportunity to check in at one of the property's private residences, complete with airport transportation and a grocery credit for stays of seven nights or more. Other resorts with extended-stay villa options include Imanta, One&Only Mandarina and Mar al Cielo. For families whose children need to continue their remote schooling, the Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita, Conrad Punta de Mita, St. Regis Punta Mita Resort and Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit all offer extended stay programs and home-schooling classes.

Interviewing for a new position can be stressful. It's also a balancing act that can take time, and practice, to perfect. When it comes to salary expectations, the pressure increases exponentially. How much will they pay you? How much dare you ask for? What about benefits, and other deciding factors? The way you play this game can put thousands of extra dollars in your paycheck. So how should you bring it up? When to discuss salary
There are a few different schools of thought on this. Some people say that you should wait until the person asking the questions mentions it. If they don't bring it up, you stay silent and wait for the next interview (if there is one). Others say that you should bring it up yourself if the interviewer doesn't mention it or skates around the subject. And some people are of the firm belief that you should only discuss salary once you've been offered the job. The fact is, there's no right or wrong answer here. You have to get a feel for how the interview process is going, and also the demeanor of the person doing the interview.
The International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) is calling for government officials to allow the
reopening of attractions in their states as well as pushing for
Covid-related relief legislation -- such as additional PPP funding and
industry-specific grant and loan programs -- to support the industry. "Covid-19 has devastated our industry, " said John Hallenbeck, vice
president of North America at the IAAPA, in a statement. In addition to theme parks, his group represents amusement parks, arcades, historical sites, museums, zoos and aquariums, nature parks and other institutions. "IAAPA
estimates the effects of the pandemic will have cost $23 billion in
economic losses in 2020 alone. Parks and attractions are ready to reopen
responsibly and can do so with guidance and regional support. " The IAAPA cited a recent study it released that found the U. S. attractions industry has experienced job losses five times greater than the average loss across all other sectors.
Analyzing data pulled from the U. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the organization found that U. attractions collectively saw a decline of more than 125, 000 employees between last March and May. By July, typically the peak month of employment for the attractions industry, the sector's employment was down 35% on the same month in 2019, with around 165, 000 jobs lost. Wages were also down significantly last year, with attractions employees experiencing a combined $1. 1 billion decline in pay in the second quarter of 2020 on the same period a year prior. Amusement and theme park employees appeared to be hit hardest by pay loss, accounting for 70% of the industry's drop in wages. When it comes to recovery, the IAAPA reported that much of an attraction's ability to bounce back has hinged largely on the response of officials and policymakers in the attraction's region. The group said that industry employment losses were "less dramatic" in markets like Florida, where attractions have generally been permitted to reopen with safety protocols in place, but remained high in states such as California, Massachusetts, Illinois and New York, where attractions have largely been closed.
There are also several hotels and resorts that do not offer testing on site but will help to arrange guest visits to participating hospitals and clinics. For hotels that do not offer testing on site or for travelers who would prefer to visit a hospital or lab, the Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau offers testing at Hospital Joya, Hospital CMQ and Hospital Punta Mita. Three clinics are also available for testing, including Laboratorio Genomiclab, Servicios Mdicos de la Bahia and Travel Medical Assistance.
